Question by B: Internet safety?
I need advice on internet safety for my family. I am having a baby in June. I made a website for him which includes his name and pictures of all his family, a blog, pictures of his ultrasound and my husband and myself.

I asked a family member for a pitcure of them to include on my website and they wouldn’t give it to me b/c they say that “internet safety” especially for children is very important. They think that someone can find my child or my family by the pictures on the web page.

I have to say, this scared me a little bit and I am thinking about taking the website down. What do you think? Do you have any advice on “internet safety”.

By the way, this same person who wouldnt give me their picture has a website for his business with a picture of him and all his business info on it. I questioned him about it and he says that its ok because there is no “personal” stuff on there.

Well, they have been seeing a lot of kids pictures showing up on child porn sites. I think you should make a facebook or a myspace which you can put on private and no one will be able to access it unless you accept them as your friend. My sister just had a baby and that is what she did. I wouldn’t put pictures of my kids up on an open website…there are too many weirdos out there!
